A stunning display of coastal imagery, featuring views and vistas from the County Cork region has been opened in the airside arrivals area at Cork Airport. The exhibition, which features the works of acclaimed West Cork-based photographer Dennis Horgan serves as a bright and vibrant welcome for visitors to our region. The images are a selection of photographs from his most recent publication, “The Coast of Cork – A View from Above” which was published last year.

Entitled “Welcome to the wonders of our region”, the exhibition features stunning vistas in locations across the county, showcasing the natural beauty and scenery in its finest light. Included in the exhibition are aerial images of locations from East Cork to West Cork and a collection of images of search and rescue services like the RNLI and Irish Coast Guard on exercises off our shores. The new exhibition complements the ongoing tourism promotion in the terminal with a selection of visuals from Visit Cork and Fáilte Ireland, promoting the best of Cork culture, scenery and food. The aerial photography was captured by Dennis, with aircraft services provided by Atlantic Flight Training Academy, based at Cork Airport.

Dennis Horgan is a passionate aerial photographer who has extensive published works. It is particularly appropriate for Dennis’ work to feature at Cork Airport as he himself was present for the opening of Cork Airport in 1961. This then gave rise to his passion for a love of aircraft and a flair for aerial photography. Dennis recently had the opportunity to present a copy of his new publication to Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien TD and Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Jerry Buttimer TD on their visit to Cork Airport earlier this month.

Speaking on the opening of his new exhibition at Cork Airport, Dennis Horgan said: “It’s a pleasure to partner with Cork Airport in the promotion of Cork tourism and local photography. I was at the opening of the airport in 1961, and I am so proud that almost three and a half million passengers will get to see this exhibition in 2026.”

Paying tribute to the work of Dennis Horgan, Managing Director at Cork Airport, Niall MacCarthy said: “Our visitors love the Irish coastline, and it is our pleasure to showcase the works of a wonderful local photographer of Dennis Horgan’s calibre, highlighting the best of coastal Cork. We promote Cork and the South of Ireland tourism, and we will continue to do so with vibrant exhibitions from talented photographers and artists.”
